Jim Allard has performed on stage and in the studio for many years as a free lance musician. The genres he has worked in
range from folk to free jazz and include funk, fusion, bop, classic rock, and classical. His studies over many years include time at Berklee College of Music
as an Arranging and Composition/Education major. While there, he enjoyed studies with Joe Viola on Saxophone and Matt Marvuglio on flute and others.
Jim also had the opportunity to study with master teacher Joe Allard at New England Conservatory and extended his flute studies with Alan Weiss. To enhance
his musicality he has studied piano with Fred Holovnia, Joe Holovnia and continues to study with Dick Odgren.
Jim has performed with many ensembles including Idyll Curiosity, Bop and Pop, Percussion Discussion, The Jay Tyer Group, Hey Rim Jeon and Friends,
and the Worcester Jazz Orchestra. Jim is self producing a CD of his own compositions with the help of many fine musicians, including renowned Latin percussionist
Eguie Castrillo with his group, as well as pianist Hey Rim Jeon and drummer J. Curtis Warner. Jim can also be heard on the CD "Hey Rim Jeon and Friends."
Jim is on the faculty at the Joy of Music Program, Worcester Academy, Clark University, and WPI.
